Endangered Cheetah Cubs at Chester Zoo
Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011Hurry down to Chester Zoo this summer to catch a glimpse of their newest and cutest additions to the Chester Zoo Family. Four tiny cheetah cubs, who are only five weeks old, have finally stepped outside after being lovingly nursed and cared for until they were ready to become acclimatised to their new surroundings.
The four Northern Cheetah cubs are the first litter of cubs ever to be born at Chester Zoo and the feat is even more impressive considering the species are tragically dwindling in their native habitat of North East Africa.
The cubs are so young that their gender cannot yet be confirmed (zoo keepers have earmarked the six week mark as the time when this should be announced) and as yet have not been named, however this has not failed to reduce their popularity as they have frolicked and played around in their enclosure with their mother KT, in front of hundreds of adoring fans and animal lovers.
Rent a Holiday apartment in Chester and stay over the weekend as there’s so much to see and do in Chester Zoo, including the fantastic Dinosaurs At Large exhibition which includes 13 life-size and scarily life-like animatronic dinosaurs including T-rex, Allosaurus, and Dilophosaurus amongst others.
Chester Zoo is a fantastic day out for children and adults alike and with these two great additions to the Zoo it is becoming one of the leading Zoo’s in the country.
