How to answer an enquiry effectively
-
Sign up to receive a free SMS text message with the enquiriers
details so that you can contact them immediately. There is nothing
worse for enquirers than not to hear anything back after they have
taken the time to contact you.
-
If the enquirer provides a telephone number, always ring them
rather than emailing them - don't forget that enquirers have generally
sent emails to numerous owners – the first to reply, normally gets
the business.
-
Provide as many telephone numbers as possible including daytime, evening
or mobile number so that enquirers can get in touch with you straight away.
If you can't take calls at a certain time of day, maybe a family member
can on your behalf.
-
Remember to reply in a friendly and courteous manner. Even if you haven't
got availability, let them know and see if other dates may be suitable.
-
If you don’t hear anything back, follow up the next day. Don't forget that
emails don’t always reach the required destination so a call to make sure that
everything has been received and if there is anything else that they need is a
great idea.
-
When replying by email, let them have a link to your own website (if you have one).
Also think about helping them with car hire, resort recommendations, anything
at all that could win you the booking.
AND FINALLY
-
Don't be shy, you are running a business and they have enquired about YOUR holiday
home. Pick up the phone and have a good chat to them so that any questions can be
answered and you make their choice really easy to BOOK WITH YOU TODAY!!
