Holiday Home Description
Brightside villa is set in a beautiful part of the island enjoying National Park surroundings with rolling hills and lush vegetation and within a leisurely stroll or bike ride from Devil's Bridge, one of Antigua's most beautiful eco-tourism destinations. The villa is also a few minutes walk from Long Bay, one of Antigua's most beautiful beaches protected by a reef and providing excellent swimming and snorkelling.
A couple of minutes walk across the street is Antigua's newest luxury resort hotel, the Verandah Resort and Spa and rental includes a guest pass to the hotel's activities including non-motorised water sports, tennis and use of the swimming pools and beaches. Guests can also access the Resort's restaurants, bars,cinema and spa & salon facilities.
The villa is part of the gated villa development of Verandah Estates with 24 hour security and it is within easy access of the airport and the capital of St John's. Driving time from V.C. Bird International Airport is about 25 minutes, and about 30 minutes from St. John's.
The villa itself provides luxury accommodation including a magnificent large master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and 4 poster bed with its own large balcony offering lovely sea views over the bay. There are 2 twin bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and one additional double bedroom (without bathroom) offering flexible and spacious accommodation for families. The villa has been beautifully furnished throughout by a local interior designer and has air-conditioning in all bedrooms. There is high speed wifi internet access available in the villa.

Living areas:
The villa has a large downstairs open plan spacious living area which comprises a kitchen, an air-conditioned dining area and a sitting area. The kitchen is equipped with an American Fridge freezer, oven, microwave, coffee machine and breakfast bar. The dining table seats 8 and the lounge area comprise a large L shaped sofa with Cable TV , DVD and i-pod stereo docking system. There is also a separate downstairs cloakroom and a laundry room with a washer and separate tumble dryer. At the back of the villa and through the patio doors from the main living area there is also a spacious covered verandah which provides a large outdoor living area complete with barbecue and table and seating for 8 for outside dining which the Carribean climate allows all year round.
The villa has telephone with high speed wi-fi internet access available in the hotel reception. For families with young children, there is a cot, high chair and stair gate.
Bedrooms:
The spacious master bedroom includes a 4 poster bed with a sitting area comprising a sofa bed if required for small children. There is also Cable TV and a working area with a computer desk and a his and hers walk-in closet. The en suite bathroom has a bath and shower. There are patio doors from the master bedroom leading to a large balcony with seating to enjoy the lovely views over Lawries Bay.
Upstairs there is also a twin bedroom with views towards Non-Such Bay and a custom made wardrobe unit and Cable TV with Play Station 2 and DVD player.
Downstairs there are two bedrooms either side of the living area, one twin and one double, both which have ensuite bathrooms with bath/shower and large walk-in closets. Each of these bedrooms has its own patio doors leading out onto the verandah at the back of the villa and to its pool beyond.
All bedrooms are air conditioned. We request our guests do not smoke inside the villa.
Pool and Gardens
There is a 800 square foot pool with water feature and seating area allowing plenty of room for swimming and relaxing. The grass garden area is large enough to enjoy activities such as volleyball, football and cricket. There is a fixed basketball net and play area.The other areas are stocked with tropical plants including banana trees, coconut palms, bougainvillea, hibiscus and oleander.
There is also a small backup generator and pump room.
Brightside is part of the Verandah Estates, a brand new, luxury, gated residential villa development in Antigua.
It has convenient, gated access directly off the main road leading to Long Bay Beach, with a 24-hour manned security gate and fully fenced perimeter to ensure safety and security for guests.
The Estates enjoy direct water access to the beautiful, reef-protected Lawrie's Bay (view from back of villa shown) and the community features a park area for gatherings and picnics.
DESIGN/CONCEPT
The villa was designed by a leading Antiguan architect and built to the highest standards by the highly regarded local firm Horizon Construction. The overall concept is based on a mix of colonial style with local Caribbean influences to create a bright and airy feel to the villa which benefits from the cooling trade wind breezes.
The eco-friendly design includes solar powered panels for electricity, utilising the benefits of Antigua's high levels of sunshine. Rainwater is also recycled using the cistern beneath the house.
