A 90 minute drive from Geneva, the chalet is 310 m2 in size and has 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and a second sitting room for noisy children! It is located at 1800m and has stuning views for 220 degrees around the chalet across to the mountains and down into the Rhone Valley. The sense of space is enhanced by the use of double height ceilings in the living areas. The chalet has been built using reclaimed old wood and local stone including stone helicoptered down the mountain to build a huge stone fireplace forroaring log fires.

The chalet has everything you could need. There is underfloor heating throughout, power showers, heated towel rails, large jacuzzi hot tub for 8 outside on the deck with sensational views; there are 2 plasma TVs, 2 DVDs, wirless internet, stereo with ipod docking station. The sofas are feather filled and soft, there is a large oak dinig table for 12; the kitchen is hand built out of old wood and has every Miele appliance from plate warmer to 2 ovens and 2 freezers. For those that don’t want to cook, our service company is happy to provide 3 course evening meals for £18 per person for you to heat up or if preferred can offer a chef to cook a cordon bleu meal at the chalet (subject to availability).

4 Valleys Area Information

Chalet Wildhorn is in Haute Nendaz which sits in the middle of the Four Valleys (see map at ‘other information’), next to Verbier. It is a fabulous holiday destination in winter or in summer and can be accessed by flights to Geneva (90mins) and also Zurich (120 mins) which can sometimes offer cheaper air fares and is 120 minutes away.

The Four Valleys are one of only 7 ski areas in the world awarded 5 stars and there are 412 km of pistes. It is high and the snow is reliable. All levels of skier are well catered for. At the top of the Nendaz cable is a childrens snow park and restaurant. There are lots of runs for the intermediate skiier among the trees and up high, with many characterful restaurants to visit. For the hardened skiier there is no shortage of challenge off piste with the run down the glacier at the back of Mont Fort a favourite.

Nendaz itself is a famiily friendly resort with a full range of restaurants and apres ski and shops and spas.

The Four Valleys are the sunniest part of Switzerland and claim 300 days of sunshine every year. There is a huge range of activities available (see the helpful www.nendaz.ch website) from hiking the 98 km of bisses (tributaries to the Rhone river) and 250 km of other marked trails to mountain biking, paragliding, swimming, tennis. For the children there are organised activities and treasure hunts as well.

Further afield, Lake Geneva is 45 minutes drive away. For the cultured, Martigny is an interesting visit with the Pierre Giada Foundation and its Roman ruins. Switzerland‘s laregst theme park, Happyland is 35 minutes away as is Waterworld and there are golf courses at Sion (20 minutes) and Crans Montana (35 minutes but worth the extra drive).
