Perfect for a relaxing holiday, we are just a 10 minute walk from the centre of La Roche-Posay, which was a fortified medieval town much of which remains to this day. This elegant and historical town is bristling with restaurants and cafes, and is known throughout Europe for its thermal baths and spa centres which use the special healing qualities of the freely available natural spring waters for health and cosmetic reasons and also for the treatment of psoriasis, burns and other skin conditions. And have recently developed aftercare cancer treatment utilizing the water's anti-oxidant properties. It also has its own golf course (1500m), racetrack (3km), casino and nightclub (400m) and twice weekly markets.

The Cherry Lodge apartments are, Les Tournesols (2 Bed sleeps 4/6), Les Lauriers and La Lavande (1 Bed sleeps 2/4) and Les Vignes (2 Bed sleeps 6) each has a tv/dvd, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Laundry facilities are on site (2 washers and 1 dryer) and free WiFi internet is also available. Each apartment can be individually booked or, if you wish, exclusivity can be guaranteed by booking all four, making Cherry Lodge ideal for a four family get together.

Vienne Area Information

You can see the wonders of technology at Futuroscope (France’s second most popular tourist attraction!) just 40 minutes away, or potter around the medieval villages such as Angles sur l'Anglin nominated one of France’s “Beaux Villages” which also features Roc aux Sorcieres with its 14,000 years old cave paintings.

The landscape provides both an uplifting and relaxing backdrop for superb walks or rambles (only 100m to the disused railway line), horse riding, biking or canoeing. La Roche-Posay is actually situated at the confluence of the rivers Creuse and Gartempe, just to the west of the Brenne National Park with its many lakes and offers superb fishing. Also nearby are the many chateaux of the Loire valley.

We are also well positioned for house hunting in the area being only 20 minutes from the nearest TGV station at Chatellerault (making Paris less than a 2 hour journey away!) and there are 2 estate agents in the village!
