Set in large well tended and mature gardens, The Costa luz apartments occupy a unique location directly on the sandy beach at Los Pocillos and many of the apartments have spectacular sea views. Having recently been refurbished, the apartments in Block 6 are comfortable and modern. Block 6 enjoys the best location - being front line and over-looking the beach, the views are superb - 180 degree panoramic view of sand and sea.

The apartments are particularly spacious inside and have two double bedrooms, one full bathroom with a separate shower room, sunny balconies, modern wooden kitchens with marble worktops, full modern oven and grill, ceramic hob, refrigerator, electric kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. Satellite television, DVD players and safes are installed in all apartments. Beds can be made up as twin beds or as double beds, please specify your preference when you book.

The complex has a beautiful secluded swimming pool within a walled garden well supplied with umbrellas and sun loungers, which is heated in the winter months.

Just across the road from Costa Luz is a shopping centre with a well stocked supermarket and various interesting restaurants which the receptionist will be pleased to discuss with you. The main Puerto del Carmen promenade starts right outside the entrance gate.

The unique setting and pleasant situation make these apartments extremely popular and early booking is advisable.

These apartments are in blocks of six with two apartments per floor on three floors (ground middle and top floor). We have different categories of apartments in Costa Luz as follows:

1 bedroom apartment

Only a stone's throw from the beach, the one bedroom apartments are very spacious indeed. The living area has a large dining room table and chairs and comfortable three seater sofa with two arm chairs. Satellite TV is also included. The living room leads onto a large south facing balcony which has a table and chairs. The fully fitted, modern electric kitchen has a full oven, microwave, ceramic hob, kettle, toaster and fridge freezer. There is also an iron and ironing board and a safe in the bedroom cupboard. The bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a bath and shower. Beds can be made up as a double or twins. These apartments can sleep up to 4 people. All linen and bathroom towels are included. 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, standard apartment

Our two bedroom apartments are very spacious. The living area has a large dining room table and chairs and comfortable three seater sofa with two arm chairs. Satellite TV is also included. The living room leads onto a large south facing balcony which has a table and chairs. Most apartments have superb views of the sea and beach. The fully fitted, modern electric kitchen has full oven, microwave, ceramic hob, kettle, toaster and fridge freezer. There is also an iron and ironing board and a safe in the bedroom cupboard. Beds can be made up as a double or twins. The bathroom is between the 2 bedrooms and has a bath, shower, toilet and basin. All linen and bathroom towels are included. Maid service is also included. Same specification as the superior apartments listed above however the views from the front block are truly spectacular and second to none in Lanzarote. With panoramic views of the beach and ocean - you won't want to leave your apartment.

Puerto del Carmen Area Information

Situated approximately 60 miles off the West coast of Africa and 700 miles South West of the Spanish peninsula, Lanzarote enjoys one of the driest and sunniest climates of the seven Canary Islands. It is roughly 36 miles long and 12 miles wide. The temperature does not vary much from approximately 20°C in January to 30°C in August. The golden sandy beaches of Puerto del Carmen, Papagayo and Famara are one of the main attractions for all year round sun-worshippers. The unusual "lunar landscape" of the island and Cesar Manrique’s artistic and architectural influence offers a melange of unique sightseeing opportunities whether you choose to go it alone with a rent-a-car or on one of the many excursions.

The islanders or "Conejeros" have prevented Lanzarote from becoming spoilt by applying restrictions insuring low level development. The result is a clean, low-key and uncrowded island offering an atmosphere in which to relax, unwind and laze in the sun. It has also helped Lanzarote gain a reputation as one of the most popular holiday destinations by the most discerning of holidaymakers. The island has completely crystal clear unpolluted waters, lying hundreds of miles away from any industrial development. This makes it a favourite destination for those interested in water sports such as windsurfing, deep sea fishing, sailing, surfing, snorkelling and scuba diving.

The tall volcanic mountains offer the ideal platform for parascending and paragliding but for most of us they are the perfect place to admire the stunning views and unrivalled sunsets. Excellent facilities are also available for other sports such as tennis, squash, horse riding and golf on the attractive 18 hole golf course in Costa Teguise.

There are plenty of places to see if you are interested in exploring the island. The Timanfaya National Park (Montana del Fuego) set in the extraordinary lava fields of Yaiza is the most popular and gives you the opportunity to climb the Fire Mountain on the camel trek. There is also the underground lake in Jameos del Agua as well as the Mythical Greens Cave (cueva de los Verdes), the cactus gardens (Jardin de Cactus) and of course the magnificent house of Cesar Manrique which blends and harmonises art and architecture with the volcanic landscape of Lanzarote.

At the core of the island is Teguise, the old capital, which retains all the charm of Lanzarote and is an insight into the islands’ history and culture. It is also the setting for the Sunday market where the stalls are crammed with leather, lace and crafts. Further North is the tranquil village of Haria, set in the valley of the Thousand Palms, probably the most fertile part of Lanzarote. Mirador del Rio gives you the opportunity to admire the little island "La Graciosa" from Lanzarote’s highest cliff tops. Orzola and El Golfo, the most Northerly and most Westerly villages, respectively, have excellent fish restaurants where you can sample some of the local specialities such as "Sama", "Vieja" and "papas Arrugadas" with "Mojo" combined with the local "Malvasia" wines.

The best beaches can be found in the Southern most tip of the island in the coves of Papagayo. These are made up of pure white sand blown over from West Africa’s Sahara desert many years ago. They offer a magnificent view of Fuerteventura, the neighbouring island to the south. Other beaches include Playa Blanca (not to be confused with Playa Blanca, the town) which runs parallel with the promenade in Puerto del Carmen, easily accessible and offers beach activities such as pedalos, jet skis, sunbeds, and parasols. Los Pocillos is just down the road and offers activities such as windsurfing and dinghy sailing. Further North are the quiet beaches of Famara and Orzola.

Puerto del Carmen is a combination of traditional and modern. Originally a quaint fishing harbour and village, the town has developed into a very attractive modern resort along the south facing bays of the Los Fariones, Pocillos and Matagorda beaches. As with the rest of Lanzarote, great care has been taken in planning the architecture and landscape. The result is a beautiful promenade stretching the length of the three bays lined with palm trees and the colourful tropical flowers are a main feature.

The beautiful sandy beaches and clear blue water are ideal for sunbathing and swimming all year round. Puerto del Carmen is highly recommended as safe and suitable for young and old alike. The protected southerly situation shelters it from the prevailing winds on the North and East side of the island. The old fishing village has retained the harbour atmosphere and is an excellent place to sample the local fish restaurants and local shops which are only a short distance from all our properties. When the sun goes down, the beachfront livens up and there is a great selection of good quality restaurants, bars and discos later on.

There are 2 golf courses on Lanzarote. The first is 'Golf de Costa Teguise', it is an 18 hole par 72 course and is 20 minutes drive from Puerto del Carmen. There is also a brand new Golf course in Puerto del Carmen, it is 2 minutes drive (or a decent walk!) from this property and has received rave reviews from those that have already played there. The course in great condition, the views are great and you can hire clubs, buggies etc.
