Dolphin Villa is a single storey villa, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bath/shower rooms - but see below for details of additional self-contained studio room, sleeping a further 2 guests. The villa offers beautiful views of the White Mountains to the south-west, and north to the sea at Souda Bay. The villa has its own 35sqm swimming pool, which is 1.6m deep at the deep end, 0.6m at the shallow end, with stone steps between the two levels. There is a pool terrace with pergola and a shady balcony at the front of the house. There is a double bedroom (with en-suite shower room), and a second bedroom with twin beds. The bedrooms are air-conditioned - reverse cycle air conditioners provide cool air for the summer heat and will warm the rooms on chilly winter evenings. All main rooms have ceiling fans. All modern facilities are provided, including TV/DVD, radio/CD, washing machine, cooker, fridge-freezer and a dishwasher. A barbeque is provided for those who wish to cook 'al fresco'.

At an extra cost of £100 per week, guests may add the option of a large (25sqm) self-contained studio room, offering the facility to sleep a further 2 people - ideal for those requiring extra space for themselves, children, friends or relatives. The 'Turtle Room' has a large double bed and a single divan-type sofa bed and has its own shower room. It is fully air-conditioned. This 'family' room is only available to guests renting Dolphin Villa, and is not let out separately. Full details on request.

Normal changeover day is Tuesday, in line with UK charter flights, but we are happy to consider other changeover dates and long term lets outside of high season. Although not strictly fully wheelchair accessible, Dolphin Villa has ramp access to the front of the house. The main living area is then accessed through a large double front door, set in a feature stone arch, and accommodation is all on one level. Smoking is not permitted in the bedrooms.

Chania/Vamos Area Information

Vamos is the small but thriving capital of the Apokaronas region of Crete, and its centre is within a 5-minute walk from our villas. The village is well served with tavernas, shops, post office, bank and 24-hour health centre, but is well away from the busy tourist areas. Several local beaches are 10-15 minutes drive away. Chania is within easy reach as are other local attractions, which include the Aptera archaeological site, horse-riding in Georgioupolis, Limnopoulis water park, Samaria Gorge and much more.

At the heart of the Apokoronas Peninsula in Western Crete sits the thriving old village of Vamos. Although only a 10-minute drive from many of the beautiful and unspoilt local beaches, Vamos provides a year-round haven, away from it all. Bank facilities, Post Office, bakery, supermarkets, 24-hour Health Centre and three good tavernas are all to be found within the village. It is the perfect place to base yourself for a vacation - whether it be a sunshine summer holiday or at any time of the year to enjoy the beautiful surrounding area, so rich in flora and wildlife, not to mention the thousands of years of history and archaeology.

A 5-minute walk from the centre of Vamos, at the edge of the village, you will find Dolphin and Octopus Villas. Both villas look across the village to Souda Bay, and have wonderful views of the White Mountains to the southwest. They are designed in traditional local style, but provide every modern comfort and facility. Each has its own swimming pool.
