Holiday Home Description

Ducktails, South Creake

Ducktails is a charming traditional brick and flint cottage situated in the picturesque village of South Creake, near Burnham Market. Ducktails provides a relaxing home for both short breaks and longer holidays, here in England. The cottage was converted from an old forge and many of the original features have been retained, adding to its character. It is the middle of three cottages and has a pretty stream running in front of it, with a bridge for access. Ducktails has a lovely beamed sitting room with an Inglenook fireplace. This contains a woodburning stove, which makes it lovely and cosy in the winter. Plenty of logs are provided. There are also electric storage heaters both upstairs and downstairs.

Used by us as our own holiday and weekend cottage, Ducktails is furnished to a high standard and very well equipped. Everything in the cottage is new and the reclaimed pine furniture was made specially by a local craftsman. The whole cottage has been redecorated and recarpeted throughout. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare both cordon bleu meals and barbecues. It also has a full sized dishwasher. The bathroom, which is downstairs, has a wide bath with a shower above it. It also has a heater for those cold winter days.

The two bedrooms are upstairs. The master bedroom has a double bed, large chest of drawers, wardrobe cupboard and bedside table. The twin bedroom has two single beds, a chest of drawers and bedside table.

To the rear of the cottage there is a fully enclosed garden. It has a lawned area as well as a patio. Garden furniture and a barbecue are provided. The garden is very sheltered, totally private and a real sun trap.It provides a safe, child friendly environment as well as being secure for your dog.

Electricity, a plentiful supply of logs, bedlinen, towels and teatowels are included in the price.Linen/towels will be changed weekly. We also provide necessary basics such as toilet rolls, toiletries, washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee and sugar.

THIS IS A STRICTLY NON-SMOKING COTTAGE.

GUESTBOOK

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your lovely cottage. I was keen to find somewhere cosy and homely so that we could simply curl up and read a book if we wanted. The log fire clinched it and we loved it. The cottage is so well equipped and well appointed. We did go out every day and really like north Norfolk(particularly the coastal reserves and The Wash) but had some bitterly cold weather. Despite this we were very warm in the cottage and it was a pleasure feeding the ducks outside and listening to the owls at night! The week gave us a complete rest. So many thanks - we have vowed to come back." - Sandy, April 2008

"We all had a lovely time staying in this wonderful cottage. We did have to move some of the ornaments out of reach of our 2 year old. Enjoyed the beautiful area very much. The Ostrich Inn was well worth the visit (lovely food and atmosphere). Thank you for a lovely stay." - Robinson family, July 2007

"We have just returned home at the end of a lovely week at Ducktails. Many thanks." - Leonard family, August 2006

"Ducktails Cottage is a very pretty, if bijou, property in a great location. As the parents of small children we appreciated the nearby new playground and visited the local pub, The Ostrich. A friendly pub with good food, but as with many of the pubs in North Norfolk, quite pricey. The cottage could have benefitted from a washing machine, but apart from that, met our expectations and our girls loved fishing in the little stream running outside the front door. The decor is of good quality throughout and loved much of the artwork. " - Jane, August 2006

"We had a really good time, your cottage is very comfortable (except for the low door frames!!). It was a shame that the weather was cold and rainy but that didnt dampen our spirits as we still managed to get to the beach which the dogs thoroughly enjoyed.Thank you." - Beverly, May 2006

"Ducktails was fantastice and not at all disappointing. We will certainly be recommending this cottage on to friends and will return ourselves. Nice location, cottage lovely, A1" - Stacey & family, April 2006
