Holiday Home Description

Ferienwohnung Mosslacher is the ideal winter and summer holiday location. In winter you can ski at the local slopes of the nearby Nassfeld Ski arena with over 30 state of the art lifts, guaranteed snow and over 100kms of excellent piste. In summer there are lots of outdoor pursuits for all ages.

Ferienwohnung Mosslacher is a lovely apartment building with 5 fully equipped self contained apartments sleeping 2 to 6 people comfortably, or suitable for groups of up to 24.

The apartments are very spacious, well equipped and furnished and we maintain very high standards of cleanliness.

There is a residents lounge / games room where you can relax and enjoy the warmth of a real wood fire or the kids can enjoy games such as electronic darts, snooker / pool, table football and we also have a range of board games. We have a selection of DVD's and books which can be borrowed and used in your own apartment.

In summer the garden provides a safe environment for the childen to play on the swing, use the trampoline or enjoy a game of table tennis and for adults to relax on a sunbed.

The village of Weissbriach and the surrounding areas are very pretty with wonderful mountain views, extensive walking opportunities, mountain huts and delightful restaurants. There are a wealth of activities available for children: horse riding, toboganning, tennis, mini golf, lake and pool swimming, mountain biking, rafting. In the village (3 mins walk) there are a number of hotels, restaurants, a supermarket, bank, tourist information office, hairdresser, outdoor swimming pool with slide, cafe and sunbathing area. The nearby 'wellness' hotel offers indoor swimming and therapeutic treatments at reasonable cost.

Each apartment has its own south facing balcony or terrace with mountain views and outdoor furniture. The apartments have 1 or 2 bedrooms & bathrooms, a bed settee in the lounge and fully equipped kitchens and satellite TV (German & Austrian channels). The apartments are in a typical pretty Austrian village called Weissbriach which is 20mins from the extensive Nassfeld ski area and the Weissensee lake which has fantastic winter and summer activities.

The property, which is British owned, provides a high standard of accommodation and a warm welcome.

No matter what snow based activities you want it is available within 25 minutes from your base in Weissbriach. Beginners, intermediates and families can enjoy value for money skiing or snowboarding at the local slopes. Lessons and equipment hire are available at reasonable cost. For the more advanced the nearby Nassfeld Ski arena with over 30 state of the art lifts, guaranteed snow and over 100kms of excellent piste is 25 minutes away by car or you can take advantage of the free ski bus which picks up in the village. Within 10 minutes drive is the Weissensee lake which is the largest natural ice skating arena in Europe which also offers skiing and snowboarding as well as sleigh rides.

SUMMER HOLIDAYS

Summer visitors to Carinthia enjoy the natural beauty of the landscape, walking in the unspoilt national parks with their crystal clear rivers and lakes is both relaxing and inspiring. Where better to enjoy water sports and bathing than in lakes and rivers with superb water quality? If water is your element, you can choose between the reinvigorating crystal-clear waters of a mountain lake or the relaxing tranquillity of the warm bathing lakes . . . either way, you'll love it.

Summer is festival time in Carithia - every village has its own 'Kirchtag' or festival with quaint customs which have survived the centuries. Not to be missed are the Kufenstechen - events where the young men of the village ride horses bare back whilst carying a metal hammer and try to knock down a wooden barrel for the privilege of kissing the prettiest maiden in the village. Sitting with a cool drink on warm summer evenings beside a lake you get a real sense of Meditteranean wellbeing. But Carinthia doesn't just lie geographically and climatically at the intersection of three countries. The influence of southern neighbours can also be felt in the culture and local communities. Carinthian people have picked up a love of life and an easy-going temperament from their neighbours. A warm sense of hospitality and open-heartedness ensure that the visitor feels at home right away.
