Les Lauriers, a working farmstead until 2003, consists of the Farmhouse, Laurier Cerise, which the owners lived in, and the Grandparent's house, Laurier Rose, which has been refurbished and refitted throughout. Outside, a large swimming pool has been installed.

Situated right in the heart of a well known south Vendee village, this house lets you join in the pleasures of French village life.

Accommodation on the ground floor includes a double bedroom, with a comfortable kingsize bed. A large wood-paneled Lounge/Diner, a lounge, two fully fitted kitchen/Diners, a huge Arriere cuisine, a shower room, a bathroom and two separate toilets. Ample cutlery, crockery and cookware are provided.

Upstairs, there are 2 double and 4 twin rooms, a bathroom and toilet.

Cots and Highchairs can be provided.

With years of experience ourselves, we have ensured that all the furniture and beds are comfortable to enable you to relax and enjoy your stay

Outside, is the pretty garden and outdoor eating area, which has tables and chairs as well as plenty of play space, shaded and undercover parking, the large swimming pool and space to play boules!

All along the coast are water-sports facilities, oysters and mussels fresh from the boats, miles and miles of sandy beaches with lifeguards and all within 15 minutes. There are museums, activity parks, chateaux, nature reserves, but then you might just prefer an afternoon in the pool and an evening barbecue!

Vendee Area Information

The Vendee is famous for its good weather. With hours of sunshine per year equal to that on the Mediterranean Coast, it is a favourite French holiday area. You are never far from the sea whether it is endless sandy beaches, the Vendee Globe yacht race, or Moules and Frites - you will know that you are on holiday.

Just for a change you can easily visit the beautiful cities of La Rochelle or Nantes, great days out and maybe a little retail therapy ! There are chateaux and the castle of Richard the Lionheart, there are wine trails and restaurants, there is simply something for everyone !

A very typical French village, drive through and you might think there are few people and no activity. This is your chance to find out, to be part of a village more than a 1000 years in existence. Meet the neighbours, see what's going on, discuss sport and politics endlessly in the bar, learn about quality food and great cooking.

Close by, is the town of Luçon with its huge cathedral, which was the seat of Cardinal Richelieu, before his rise to fame. Follow the Mareuil Wine Trail, try the local Go-kart circuit or hire a sailing boat at the beach. Discover.

Over the last 8 years, our UK guests have come mainly by car choosing either a longer crossing via St Malo, Cherbourg or Le Havre with a shorter drive or a quick crossing via Calais or Eurotunnel and a longer drive. It really is your choice. Ryanair and Flybe fly to La Rochelle where there is carhire facilities at the airport.
