Holiday Home Description

Matschiedl Apartments are in a recently converted 200 year old farmhouse and have 3 fully equipped self contained apartments sleeping 2 to 4 people comfortably, or suitable for groups of up to12.

One apartment is new and the other 2 are newly renovated. All are very spacious, well equipped and furnished. We maintain very high standards of cleanliness.

Children can enjoy playing in the large garden while adults can relax on a sunbed and enjoy the sunshine. We have a selection of DVD's and books which can be borrowed and used in your own apartment.

The village of Matschiedl in St Stefan and the surrounding areas are very pretty with wonderful mountain views, extensive walking opportunities, mountain huts and delightful restaurants. There are a wealth of activities available for children: horse riding, toboganning, tennis, mini golf, lake and pool swimming, mountain biking, rafting. There is a hotel in the village where you can have a drink or a meal and within 2 minutes drive are a number of other bars/reataurants. In St Stefan (2 mins drive) there is a bank and tourist information office. Within 5 mins drive there is a delightful outdoor swimming pool with slides, cafe and sunbathing and play areas and the Pressegersse lake is within 10 mins drive.

Each apartment has 1 bedroom, bathroom, spacious lounge with a sofa bed and a kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, full oven/hob and ample cooking utensils. There is a delightful garden with seating areas and a BBQ is available.

The apartments are in a typical small Austrian village called Matschiedl which is 20mins from the extensive Nassfeld ski area and 10 minutes from the Pressegersee lake which is ideal for swimming or boating and has a bar/cafe and sunbathing areas. There are many other ski areas and lakes within a 30 minute drive.

Carinthia (Austrian name Kaernten) has everything you need for a wonderful family, couples or group holiday. The Carinthia area is spectacular yet unspoilt and offers wonderful walking, cycling, sailing and more adventurous pursuits. The property, which is British owned, provides a high standard of accommodation and a warm welcome.

Hermagor Area Information

WINTER HOLIDAYS

No matter what snow based activities you want it is available within 25 minutes from your base in Matschiedl. Beginners, intermediates and families can enjoy value for money skiing or snowboarding at the local slopes. Lessons and equipment hire are available at reasonable cost. For the more advanced the nearby Nassfeld Ski arena with over 30 state of the art lifts, guaranteed snow and over 100kms of excellent piste is 25 minutes away by car. Within 20 minutes drive is the Dreilanderecke ski area where you ski in Austria, Slovenia and Italy as the borders of the three countries coincide on the mountain top. The Gerlitzen ski area is just over 30 minutes drive away as is the Italian ski town of Tarvisio. Kranjska Gora is Slovenia's top ski resort and can be reached in 40 minutes by car.
