This 6 bedroom, recently renovated spacious village house can welcome up to 14 guests and is the perfect place to stay for groups, families or friends. For guests who use a wheelchair, we have a ground-floor accessible bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, lounge, terrace and garden.

All bedrooms are tastefully furnished, with original wood flooring. There are a total of13 beds, plus 2 folding campbeds and 3 baby cots. All of the beds are singles (or we can put them together to make ‘doubles’), making sleeping arrangements really easy for mixed groups of friends and families.

Five of the bedrooms have brand new, private ensuite bathrooms / shower-rooms. We also provide many ‘bulky’ items to make holidaying with young children easier e.g. baby cots, high chairs, cutlery, baby swing, toys, changing mat and table.

The cosy lounge has satellite television, DVD (plus large collection of films), 2 double sofa beds and free wifi internet connection. The french windows ensure more lovely views of the open countryside at the rear of the house.

The well-equipped kitchen adjoins the lounge and was designed with large groups in mind . There is a big kitchen table, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, coffee maker, gas cooker, toaster, together with cupboards full of crockery and cooking utensils..

Large, private garden and dining terrace....

Although the house is in the heart of a village with shops and restaurants, you will have the best of both worlds. Once you step out of the back door, the peaceful views of open countryside really make you feel that you are in a completely rural location.

The attractive terrace is a wonderful location for a cool, relaxing drink on a warm evening. There is also an enormous barbecue for alfresco dining! There are reclining seats, 2 large dining tables / benches and even a parasol if you need some more shade. The terrace leads out onto the large, private and family-friendly garden lawn and is a great spot for watching wild birds!

Haute Vienne Area Information

We are situated in the heart of the peaceful village of St Germain les Belles, just 30 minutes south of Limoges, in the Haute-Vienne region of Limousin (10 minutes from junction 42 of the A20 motorway).

If you really don't want to hire a car during your stay, you can find everything you need, right on your doorstep.. The village has several small, local shops (selling everything from bread and pastries to fruit, meat and vegetables), a network of country walks, a rail service to Limoges and a swimming lake, complete with sandy beach!

During the warmer months (May to September), this lake can provide really great (and free!) entertainment for families with children. In July and August, there is also a bar, where during the day, you can buy snacks and ice creams and in the evening enjoy regular music and dining events.

Saint Germain les Belles is ideally situated to explore Limousin, which is often called ‘the French Lake District'. We can guarantee that it will offer you some of the most unspoiled natural landscapes in France.

There are many other swimming lakes, beaches and outdoor swimming pools in our area. Beautiful Lake Vassiviere, Europe's largest man-made lake, is only 45 minutes away and is also the site of the national contemporary art gallery.

For the outdoor enthusiast, looking for a more active holiday, there are numerous things to do and beautiful places to see. Bicycle hire is available within the village and there are many local routes through quiet country villages. The abundance of lakes and rivers also means that there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy fishing, canoeing and sailing.

Thirty minutes to the north, is the attractive city of Limoges - famous for its porcelain and old quarter. Spend a day there and discover interesting boutiques, medieval churches, restaurants and antique markets. The other historic towns and villages in our area are also well worth a visit, including Segur le Château, one of the most beautiful villages in France; Uzerche on the stunning Vézère River; Pompadour (La Cité du Cheval) and its frequent equestrian events and château; Tulle, with its picturesque winding streets and cafes…

We provide many useful leaflets and brochures on local attractions and places to visit. There is also a tourist information office just a short walk away and they will also be able to give you tips about things to see and do in Limousin.

PRICE DETAILS

Prices include just about everything and there are no ‘hidden extras’. Heating, wifi internet connection, baby equipment, electricity, towels, bed linen, cleaning, organic veggie boxes (in season), and wood for the stove are all included.

We are flexible about arrival and departure days AND depending on the month, if you do not stay for a whole week, you won’t pay for one!

Also depending on the month, we have reduced our prices to suit smaller groups. Weekly rates start from 450 euros for groups of maximum 6 people and from 350 euros for a weekend.
