Our apartments are in 3 neighbouring houses, all traditional in style. The apartments have been brought right up to date, all with fully fitted kitchens and modern bathrooms, comfortable sofas and beds, large screen TVs (mainly LCD) and DVD players and stylish furnishings.

Haus Sterr Maria (1st floor, sleeps up to 6) is in our most traditional house, modernized to the latest standards, and has a sitting room with plenty of room for 6 people to sit on the big comfy sofas, a generously equipped kitchen/dining room with space to seat 6 at the dining table, 1 double bedroom with ensuite shower room, 1 twin bedroom with ensuite shower room, 1 bunk bedroom, 1 family shower room. There is a balcony on 2 sides with garden/orchard view and access from most of the rooms.

Outside the houses have gardens, a large communal terrace, barbecues and sun loungers. We have table tennis, table football, badminton, pool table, sauna, small gym, in house massages & facials, mountain bikes for hire, DVDs, CDs, games, jigsaws and books to borrow, free WiFi Internet access, PC & printer, a small guest shop selling drinks, food, toiletries, maps, laundry service, an extensive, specially written file in English for each apartment of recommended places to visit, restaurants etc. At the 'Forsthaus' we have additional guest facilities: guest lounge with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and home made cakes, library with daily newspapers and additional lounge for large groups. We can also store your luggage if you want to arrive early or leave late, and have a bathroom for showers.

Accommodation Prices are per Night for 2 People. For each extra person there is a charge of €5 per night. Prices include: Bedlinen and towels, final cleaning, vouchers for local restaurants, tourist tax, breakfast on your first morning and essential supplies for the duration of your stay such as coffee, English tea, toilet rolls, liquid soap and shower gel. Home made bread is available to order.

Bayerisch Eisenstein Area Information

In the largest range of forested mountains in Central Europe, directly on the border with the Czech Republic, half way between Munich and Prague, Bayerisch Eisenstein is a lovely, typical mountain village, surrounded by the forested mountains, providing clean air and spring water from the tap, friendly people and plenty of things to do including tennis and mini golf, children’s adventure playground, local railway museum, demonstration glassworks, large children’s playground and the only railway station in Europe divided between 2 countries. The Bavarian Forest National Park 2 minutes walk from the apartments, with extensive walks. The Czech border (formerly the "Iron Curtain"), now open to cross on foot, by car or train) 10 minutes walk from the apartments. The Arber mountain is a few minutes by car and the cable car operates most months of the year. Skiing etc. in winter. There is an almost endless choice of destinations and activities, some on the doorstep, some taking a day: Numerous glassworks/shops, open air museums of farming and local life, breweries and schnaps distilleries, including the home of Pilsener beer, wildlife parks with the chance to see indigenous animals such as brown bears, lynx and wolves from a safe distance!, boat trips on the Danube, walks in the Bavarian and Bohemian Forest National Parks, cycling/mountain biking, horse riding, summer toboggan runs, swimming, kayaking etc., skiing/snowboarding/tobogganing/snowshoe walks in winter, a huge range of historical sites: Celtic, Roman, Habsburg, Bohemian, Bavarian, Iron Curtain etc. UNESCO World Heritage Sites Regensburg and Cesky Krumlow, as well as Passau, Prague, Plzen, Munich, Salzburg and many other places can be reached on day trips.
