Holiday Home Description
Deri Fawr (Big Oak) nestles in a valley created by The Afon Coch (Red River) in the delightful town of Llandyfrydog which is found on the island of Anglesey in north west Wales.
The Stables is one of the best holiday apartments in Anglesey; Wales in Bloom award winners. First in all Wales in 2009. Second in 2008 and 2007. All the land and gardens (3 acres) are available for your enjoyment. There are extensive hedgerows, many trees, birds and animals. Two ponds are home to ducks, moorhens, kingfisher, fish, eels and frogs. Rabbits and hedgehogs come and go. Bats are to be seen regularly.
The Stables is our ground floor apartment with parking right outside your door. Most windows are south facing. Centrally heated throughout with deep new carpet, cosy seating,a period dining suite, big TV and DVD, CD/radio/tape player, books, games and information about what to see and where to go. Outside is a copse, lawn, seating and a picnic table.
The Kitchen has a full size gas cooker, microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment, extractor fan, spotlights and all the equipment and utensils you are likely to need. A range of cleaning materials are provided for use during your stay. A vacuum cleaner is also provided.
The Bathroom is large with a big enamelled bath, powerful Mira shower over, WC, washbasin with a wonderful view, cabinet, shaver light and socket, over sink mirror, chair, large mirror and extractor fan.
Bedroom 1 is off the lounge and has a good quality 4ft 6inch double bed with fine coordinated linen and a duvet. Touch reading lamps for your bedtime book, a large pine wardrobe with drawers, a big mirror and shelf with a make up light over completes your comfort.
Bedroom 2 has two single 3ft. pine beds fitted with quality linen and duvets. Each has a bedside cabinet with reading light. A large wardrobe with drawers and a big wall mirror for your comfort.
Your hosts Mavis and Paul who are responsible for the conversion and conservation. Both are keen on encouraging wildlife and keeping the planet sustainable. We recycle as much as possible, use stream and rain water for many purposes and have won an award in the Green Dragon conservation project. We are now burning wood which we planted from seed twenty years ago.We live in the house nearby and are always available to give advice, help or just to talk. For the comfort of all our guests we do not accept pets and are a non smoking establishment.
