Almancil Area Information
Quinta do Lago is a modern and high class golfing and holiday resort, near to the town of Almancil. Nearby the villa you also have Quarteira and the cosmopolitan resort of Vilamoura. Originally a small fishing village, Quarteira has blossomed into a bustling modern holiday resort combining the pleasures of a beach holiday with great town life. This resort boasts a new pedestrianised promenade with plenty of souvenir shops, restaurants and bars, bordered by rustling palms, bright flowering hibiscus and the white and pink of the oleander. In the evening, this pleasant seaside walkway is filled with an endless stream of families and couples. There are a great number of restaurants with a wide range of cuisine choices, to meet all tastes. In the daytime you can browse the fruit and fish market, and find the perfect ingredients for a BBQ at home and for activities all the family or friends can enjoy there isthe excellent "Aquashow" water park just one and a half miles from the resort centre, situated on the main Quarteira to Loulé road. For anyone wishing a great night out, dancing until dawn, there are several clubs and discos along with the casino in the neighbouring resort and short walking distance of Vilamoura.
