Sightseeing
Paphos consists of two areas: the coastal resort area (Kato Paphos) and the town itself (Pano Paphos) which is slightly inland.
Paphos is very popular with tourists, and especially with English, German and Scandinavian tourists. Among its attractions are its ancient mosaic floors, its beautiful old harbour, its modern hotels and restaurants, situated along the seaside promenade.
Other sights include an archaeological museum, the Byzantine castle of Paphos, the Tombs of the Kings, St. Paul’s Pillar and the Temple of Aphrodite (the goddess of love and beauty).
Beaches & Watersports
There are a remarkable six Blue Flag beaches in Paphos. These are Pachyammos, Alykes, Municipal Bath, Vrysoudia and Farros. All of them offer a variety of water sports, including fishing, parasailing, jet skiing and snorkelling.
There are also several diving schools in Paphos that offer both excellent instruction and equipment for rent.
Water Parks
Be sure to visit Aphrodites water park for fun and excitement for all the family.
Golfing
There are three excellent golf courses within easy reach of Emba , they are Tsada , Secret Valley and Aphrodites Hills
Exploring
The famous Coral Bay lies 5 miles north of Paphos and is easily accessible by car or bus.
The area comprises a distinct horseshoe-shaped bay and its gently slopes make it one of the safest swimming locations on the island.
There is a beachside café that makes a day visit a must .
Try to explore the sea caves a little further along the coast (all within walking distance)
From Coral Bay you can travel along the coast towards Agios Georgios where you will see the most amazing sunset.
You are now within the Akamas Peninsula a National Park with areas of outstanding natural beauty with all manner of flora & fauna .
Visit Lara Bay and see the natural habitat of the native turtles , be sure to rest at the Last Castle where you can sample chicken , pork & local potatoes cooked on Cypriot BBQs absolutely delicious.

You cannot visit Cyprus without travelling to the Troodos mountains to see the whitewashed villages nestling in the hillside linked to generations of local history,so much of the real Cyprus is on show here ,make sure you visit the villages of Omodos Kikkos & Lefkara where you will see traditional lacemaking and hand made jewellery.
Eating Out
Paphos has a multitude of restaurants and bars catering for all tastes.
But if you prefer to dine locally in Tala (5kms), Chlorakas (3kms)or Kissonerga you will find a number of reasonably priced restaurants serving local cuisine , there you can soak up the atmosphere and meet the locals , be sure to try either the fish or meat meze a traditional greek dish ( but make sure you arrive very hungry)and of course the local wine .
