A beautiful, picturesque 2 bedroom villa, set in the valley of the Safor Mountains, just outside of the quiet village of La Barraca. The property includes a private pool (8mx10m)and beautiful garden areas, with a fountain and traditional stone garden furniture. It is the perfect place for a calm and relaxing getaway. The peaceful villa offers scenic valley views and is within 15 mins of the beach and the local towns of Alzira and Tavernes. It is only 40 mins south of historic Valencia city, and its new port area, built for the 2007 America's Cup. The villa has a large living area and a fully-fitted kitchen, including a washing machine. There is a spacious family bedroom, with a king-size bed and a single bed, and a separate double room. We bought the villa only five years ago, so all contents are less than five years old, giving the villa a fresh, modern atmostphere. The living room opens out onto a large, tiled balcony with fabulous mountain views, for outdoor dining and relaxing.

Villa Santa Marina is a traditional two-storey chalet, set on the mountainside in the Safor mountains of Valencia. It is a private villa, in a quiet urbanisation of mainly Spanish families. The villa has its own pool and large garden areas. It is the perfect place for resting, relaxing and catching some sun. It is 40 mins from Valencia airport and 1h30 mins from Alicante. The top floor of the villa is the holiday home, with two bedrooms (one family, one double), a bathroom, living room (with double sofa bed), kitchen and balcony. (The bottom floor is currently unused.) The interior has been recently renovated and is bright, modern and beautifully-kept. The house is maintained by an English couple who live locally. In our first 4 years of renting, we have had 5 returning customers.

NEW GOLF COURSE

New Championship Golf Course at La Galiana - 5 mins from the villa, affordable and open to the public

Have you ever fancied playing golf in the sun but been put off by courses being restricted to club members or only available at the most inconvenient times? Now there is a new championship course that promises golf foreveryone, every day of the year: La Galiana (www.lagalianagolf.com.), near Valencia, which opened on 1 February 2011.

There will be no members at La Galiana. Instead, anyone can book green fees for the 18-hole, par 72 course, starting from 45 euros (£39). There will also be annual passes available from 2250 euros (£1943) per person, to encourage local residents to take up the sport and make use of the facilities all year round.

Those new to golf can book individual or group classes from 25 euros (£21) for half an hour, or two-month intensive courses from 200 euros (£173). La Galiana also offers special packages for corporate groups and a Golf Clinic which can be booked by groups of friends or families wanting to spend a fun day playing golf.

La Galiana enjoys a spectacular setting in a valley surrounded by pine and orange groves, isolated from residential areas. More than 5000 local species of plants and trees have been used for the landscaping, and water consumption will be minimised through a sophisticated rainwater collection and drainage system.
