Beach activities include sun bathing, boating, fishing, shelling, birding and sunset watching and even an occasional dolphin or manatee. We are a 10 min drive to the beautiful beaches of Manasota Key with 4 lovely beaches to choose from. There are trails for hiking at Stump Pass State Park which is a wildlife sanctuary at the tip of Manasota Key. Kyaking is also avaiable.

Gasparilla Island is a short drive south where you can visit the spectacular beaches of Boca Grande and the lighthouse.

Boats can be hired for fishing or pleasure trips. Organised tours offer a variety of trips including a sunset trip where dolphins chase your boat!

Golfing is a popular past-time in the area as well. There are plenty of opportunities for a great game of golf at any one of the four nearby courses. Many more within 1 hour drive.

Sarasota & Venice are located less than an hour away, and are known for shopping, dining, and fine arts.

Port Charlotte is only 20 mins to the south. Here you will find a large shopping mall with Macys, Dillards, JCPenny etc,and a large Food Court.

Magical memories can be made by simply taking a day trip to Disney, Universal Studio, MGM, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Sea World, Discovery Cove and Busch Gardens. These attractions are just a few hours away.

Rotonda Area Information

Great all year round climate, ideally located in a peaceful part of the Sunshine State. Excellent for beach lovers, golfers, fishermen, sun worshippers or just to chill out.

The villa is a short drive from the Gulf Coast beaches of Englewood and Boca Grande here you will find the Old Florida with Antique/Craft shops restaurants etc,.

There are very good Tennis courts available in the centre of Rotonda. Turn up and play.

Although the villa is in a quiet peaceful location it is well located for local shops, supermarkets and numerous restaurants to suit all tastes. There are 4 golf courses within a few minutes drive with many more within 1 hours drive of the villa. The nearest main retail area is Port Charlotte, 12 miles away with a shopping mall, restaurants & bars however there are large supermarkets within 5 to 10 minutes drive including a Wal Mart megastore, Win Dixie, Publix , Sweetbay, Walgreens etc,.

The beaches at nearby Englewood and Boca Grande are superb-where boats can be hired. Dolphins, Manatee are seen quite frequently. The old fishing village of Placida is worth a visit just to see the Ospreys.

Orlando is 2 and a half hours drive, the Everglades approximately 2 hours drive to the south. Busch Gardens is 1 and a half hours to the north.

Flights to South West Florida. Tampa, Fort Myers, Sarasota, all just over an hour away.Orlando is an option from UK 2 .5 hours drive. My family choose to fly into Orlando because there is a direct flight from Manchester. Miami is just over 2 hours away should Miami Airport be the one of choice.
