Punta Mujeres is a small traditional fishing community on the north east coast of Lanzarote. It has remained almost undiscovered offering visitors the perfect chance to relax and rewind in this sleepy Spanish fishing village.
Punta Mujeres is a charming and tranquil town set against a rugged volcanic landscape. The village boasts the best views of the island’s largest and oldest volcano Monte Corona, along with a small pebble covered beach perfect for snorkeling. Also, the naturally created rock pools that fill with sea water provide a beautiful spot to swim and unwind in. These pools can even be enjoyed from the adorable Bar Las Piscinas on the boardwalk.
With locals building their holiday villa’s in Punta Mujeres as close to the beach as possible our fantastic holiday villa’s have beautiful ocean views. There are many quaint alleyways and backstreets in the town, making small finds like the popular Palenkis bar and restaurant an even greater achievement. The Palenkis is the hub for entertainment in the village with live music and even occasional boxing matches.
Punta Mujeres is the home of many exquisite tapas bars and restaurants and not all specializing in seafood either with the Palenkis again throwing a spanner in the works by offering a menu with a more south-American twist. However, if you want to try some traditional Canary Islands seafood, head to El Lago and gaze at the unique indoor fish pond, also visit Tres Lunas which has food to match its coastline views.
