England's weather may be unpredictable, but its extraordinary range of attractions more than make up for it. Bath, set amongst the rolling Somerset countryside, is a beautifully-preserved spa town admired for its Georgian architecture, Roman Baths and beautiful Abbey.
The Midlands are home to Birmingham, the second largest city, and Nottingham, home of Robin Hood - while the North of England mixes booming industrial cities such as Liverpool and Manchester with lush, green countryside. Cumbria is home to the Lake District National Park, one of England's most scenic regions, with countless lakes (or 'meres'), fell-walking trails and picturesque towns such as Ambleside. York, the ancient capital of Yorkshire, contains impressive Viking and Medieval remains, and the surrounding countryside is made up of heather-clad moorlands and a wild coastline.
Weary from sightseeing, you can join the locals for a pint down at your nearest pub - the perfect end a busy day in England.
