Golf in Fuerteventura

Golf is becoming very popular in The Canary Islands’ Fuerteventura with 4 courses there already. Caleta de Fuste (Costa Caleta) was the first resort to boast a golf club (Fuerteventura Golf Club) and this was home to The Spanish Open in 2004. This was quite an achievement as it was only opened in 2002. The course is part of Fuerteventura Golf Resort and is surrounded by beautiful villas, bungalows and holiday apartments that are available for rent direct from the owner.

The second course built (also in Caleta) right next door to Fuerteventura Golf Club is called Las Salinas – slightly less challenging than the first one. The island is also home to golf clubs in Jandia down to the south of the island and Las Playitas Golf Club which is located near to Gran Tarajal.
Despite the year round sunshine and the very little rain that falls on Fuerteventura the golf courses have beautiful greens. The winds do provide a challenge though!
