Golf Scotland

Scotland is quite simply the home of golf.

It all started in St Andrews over 600 years ago where, in the 13th century, shepherds played a form of golf. Today St Andrews boast six golf courses including the world famous Old Course which is still regarded as number one golf course in the world, together with its sister courses, The New Course, The Eden, The Strathtyrum, The Jubilee and the Balgove – all governed by the St Andrews Links Trust. St Andrews in the largest golf complex in Europe.

As well as St Andrews, Scotland boasts another nine Chamionship Colf Courses including Carnoustie, Cruden Bay, Loch Lomond, Muirfield, Nairn, Prestick, Turnberry, Royal Troon and Royal Durnoch.

In total there are over 550 registered golf courses in Scotland with new courses appearing all the time. There is a huge selection covering everyone’s budget and style of play with an abundance of heathland, meadowland, parkland and links golf courses to suit everybody. There are also thousands of quality self catering cottages and chalets available to rent direct from owners.
