See what Gemma from our St Helens store got up to on her own Perfect Getaway in Croatia last month!
Gemma stayed at the gorgeous Valamar Meteor Hotel in Makarska.
You can talk to Gemma about her trip at email@example.com – She will be more than happy to look after you! This blog was put together on a day by day basis whilst Gemma was away.
Getting through the airport was so quick and easy! Don’t be put off by all the new regulations, trust me it’s worth it! From arriving at the airport, going through check in & security was so effortless.
Straight away we got off the plane to that feeling that we all want when coming on holiday, the waft of 26°c heat hitting you in the face
Getting through security was so quick and easy, it literally took 3 minutes. The total time we spent in the airport including going through security & getting our cases was 15 minutes!
Again we arrived at the hotel and was in our room within 5 minutes. There was even a seal on the door to our room, that we had to break to ensure everything was covid safe.
A quick change of clothes and down to the beach to enjoy the sun and the crystal clear sea
We have started the morning off with a lovely 23 degrees which is apparently going to rise to 27 again, so it looks like it will turn out to be another lovely day
Started the day the best way I know how to when i’m on holiday by sitting on the balcony and watching the sun rise
Lazy day round the pool today building up the tan, and we went Parasailing!
It was absolutely amazing! I managed to get photos to show you Croatia from an angle you may not usually get to see it from, so you can see all it’s beauty
This is definitely something I would recommend doing if you’re planning a trip here!

Not much to report, as we have had 2 lazy days enjoying the weather down at the beach.
As you can see, the water is crystal clear!
We decided to have tea outside of the hotel tonight, and i’m so glad we did! We went to a little beachfront restaurant, and the food tasted as good as it looked
Again another lazy day around the pool yesterday, as I may or may not have caught a bit too much sun the day before
So a day under the brolly it was for me
Last night we ventured out of the hotel for tea again and tried a little sea front restaurant called Lemon Garden, oh my god this place was amazing!
If you ever come to Makarska, I would definitely recommend trying this place!

Yesterday was a bit of a chill day again and we spent time round the pool & the beach, and then got the dreaded packing done so that we can enjoy our last full day
Nic is just having her Antigen test for returning home tomorrow, and both of our PLF forms are submitted which were quite simple to do.
Getting the test done has been really easy as you order your test at Reception the day before you need it, and book a time slot in the morning to come and have it done. The results come back to you within half an hour
Todays plan is to top the tans up a bit more
do some shopping
and hopefully a few more piña coladas
(it would be rude not to
My last update for you all of my travel diary. I know I got home yesterday but I suppose better late than never ey
I know i’m not the only one that on the day that you’re due to come home thinks ‘I just want to get home now’.
Well I can honestly say that in both the airport at Split, and back at Manchester airport getting through security & picking our luggage up/dropping them off took 20 minutes each!
When we arrived at Split airport all we had to do was show the copy of our completed PLF forms
show proof of Nic’s negative covid test (which from 4th October vaccinated passengers don’t now have to do before coming home)
and show our passports, and drop our cases off
then we were off to security
We were welcomed back in Manchester by the joys of the Great British weather
Once we got off the plane and made the long dreaded walk towards security (you all know the one i’m talking about
all we had to do was have our passports scanned at the facial recognition point, then we were off to collect our cases again
and off on our merry way home.
I hope you have all enjoyed keeping up with my travels, as much as I have enjoyed writing about them.
If you have any questions about my travels, don’t hesitate to ask!
