Our Managing Director, Nicola Palmer has been recognised by the Travel Trade Gazette (TTG) as their 2022 Community Hero.
The award celebrates travel agents and agencies who have shown extraordinary commitment in giving back to their local community. Nicola strives to make charity work an integral part of all Perfect Getaways travel agent stores and has achieved so much in such a short space of time as a new travel agency.
Nicola has achieved this by inviting good causes to get in touch and putting the ethos of giving back at the heart of all Perfect Getaways travel stores.
The team raised over £12,500 for local causes as well as giving free help and advice to travellers and holiday makers during the covid pandemic.
Raising funds included a sponsored sky drive, seven coach trips, raffles and many other sponsored events with the profits going to charity and staff giving their time for free.
Locally, Nicola has visited schools to help teach children about the environment and deliver reusable water bottles. A specialist autism school, meanwhile, gained £500 to help start an edible garden after Nicola overheard a conversation about the project at a football match.
